Exists to reach and equip young people to live for God:

Why Holidays?

As we come off our school holidays, let's just think for a minute why we have them?

When God rested on the 7th day after creating the universe did He really need a holiday? God is God, he doesn’t need holidays...but we do! God knows that we need to take a break from the effort to be about our work and study. We need this not just to rest but also to take stock and spend time reflecting on how we are going?

So as we head into the second term of school, let's thank God for our break and get excited about the opportunity to get stuck back into our studies or our work. God loves us and sets a pattern of work and rest for our lives. Even more reason to Live for Him, Full On, Full Time, All the Time!

School Ministry

We have had a busy 1st week back with Confirmation Retreats at St Peter’s Catholic Parish and School, Holy Rosary Catholic Parish and School, St John’s Catholic Parish and School. We have also had the blessing of delivering our Reconciliation Retreat to St Kieran’s Catholic Primary School And Parish with the assistance of our Youth ministry Interns from Servite College!

Ocean Reef

Youth Group on Sunday night was the first night in our series "Young People in the Church." We were able to attract 27 youth to the night and had a wonderful time playing some adventurous games. We looked at some of the great young characters of the Old Testament. It has been a big school holiday programme with 2 youth groups, an iStand Weekend and our Faith on Fire Leadership day. Our next youth group will be held on the 13th of May.

Servite

The school holidays saw our youth ministry interns spend two days of leadership development as they went about their Certificate II and Certificate III work. They also participated in the Faith on Fire Leadership day where the focus was on Inspirational, Authentic and Invitational Leadership. It was also so good to see several of our students attend the Youth Mission Team iStand Weekend. 24:7 Serve is back this week and we are so excited about all of the awesome things we have planned for the term starting this week with a super fun (and delicious) afternoon being planned this Friday. We can’t wait to see everyone there!

South

We had a fun and energetic night on Friday with Aloyse Murray, youth minister at 24:7 Bassendean and 24:7 Serve joining us and helping with some great games. We played rounds of Octopus followed by Four Corners Dodgeball, a South favourite which got everyone running about and warmed up for the rest of the night. Katana led us into the night through teaching us about salt and light and how by seeking what the light is in our lives, we are better able to navigate forward in life with clarity and be a light to those around us as well! We're most excited to have everyone back after school holidays! Our trampolining event on Saturday was a great success as we had an awesome crew at Rebound in Port Kennedy having the best time. A favourite was the trampoline dodgeball! Straight after we finished we headed to Hungry Jack’s to share lunch together.”Next week we begin our new series "Who He is, Who I Am" where we'll be exploring the person who Jesus is in His humanity and divinity and how we're called to journey with Him!

Youth group on Friday night was great fun! We had a lot of people come back for the last week of the school holidays, for a relaxing night full of socialising and movie screening. We had our biggest turnout for the year with just over 30 young people gathering together. Many laughs were had, and it was nice to relax, watch a movie, and to share some food with one another. We finished the night off with some great games and enjoying one another’s company. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Friday night as we begin a new term.

Bassendean

Youth Group is back on again this Friday the 4th of May. It promises to be an awesome night full of great games, fun people and awesome food! We will also be inspired by checking out some of the great young characters in the Old Testament. We can't wait to see you all there on Friday!

Greenwood

Last weekend was a huge weekend for the youth group. We started off with rock-climbing on Saturday afternoon with 17 youth in attendance. We had such a wonderful time and the young people really got to know each other really well.Youth Group was held on Sunday night with 26 youth in attendance. Apart from having time for some great games and food we also looked at four different bible stories Jonah and the whale, Paul’s Conversion story, the walls of Jericho and David battling with Goliath. Small groups then had the responsibility of reading out and dramatizing the stories in the modern context. The young people had such a great time and it is obvious that we have some wonderful actors in our midst. The coming term will be an opportunity for us to look closer at young bible characters and how they can inspire us as young people in our relationship with God and impacting on the world in which we live.

Nedlands

Last Friday we celebrated the end of the holidays with a Mission Impossible themed youth group. It was a terrific night filled with many challenges and obstacles to go through. The young people really loved the night and it was great to see 20 young people gathering together. After attending the 24:7 Youth Ministry Faith on Fire Leadership day we are very excited to have three Student Leaders joining our leadership team. They will assist in the running of the youth group by learning how to run games, serve the other young people at the youth group and lead by example. Our next youth group will be on the 4th of May we will be starting a new term plan. We will look at finding the answer to the questions that the young people have been placing in our questions box.

Osborne Park

Youth Group last Friday was a joyful experience as we had an Amazing Race challenge! As we were still in the holiday period we had a fun structured night of different activities to help us build our teamwork skills! The MC's started the night with two fun games, Chase the Chair, and The Name Game. This led us straight into getting into teams to start the amazing race challenge. Two teams were sent off one at a time to one of the four locations around the venue. At each location they had to complete a challenge to gain points, working towards winning a prize. The different tasks they had to go through involved an obstacle course, optical illusion test, finding the hidden objects and a water balloon challenge! It was so good to see over 60 young people coming together and we are looking forward to the starting our new programme for term 2!
